Indoor air exceedances of trichloroethylene (TCE) may call for immediate action. When structures exceed NCDEQ’s Immediate Action Levels, air purifying units (APUs) can be deployed to attempt to reduce indoor concentrations while long-term mitigation is implemented.
Our fleet consists exclusively of Austin Air HealthMate Plus (HM+) APUs.
These units provide:
Over 780 cubic inches of activated carbon + potassium iodide-impregnated carbon + zeolite
High VOC removal efficiency, including chlorinated solvents and benzene
400 CFM (high setting) airflow for rapid air exchange
1,500 ft² coverage per unit
These characteristics make HealthMate Plus an option for portable air treatment of TCE, PCE, and related vapor intrusion hazards.

According to NCDEQ’s vapor intrusion guidance, indoor TCE concentrations exceeding Immediate Action Levels (IALs) may require same-day or next-day mitigation for sensitive populations.

Implement engineering controls
Coordinate tenant safety responses
Await lab confirmation or VI work plans
